insomnia and high fidelity

I'm back...not to be confused by my last post
-people don't agree with what I say...well, it would appear to be more of them not agreeing with what i did, since my last post was a review of what i did in 2005.
-I guess I should run a spell check on this before posting it...hm.....champagna.......champagne...
-the month of January 2005 sparked some drama and I'd like to apologize to Megan for what I said.

Megan, I'm sorry for what I said.
And going off of that, I think I would like to reword what I said in my last post...or actually, restate it in a way that i think everyone would agree would make better sense in what I say....wait, no, I'm not going to talk about that on here...I will be sending you an e-mail though...

moving on...

I would like to give further meaning to the title of my blog.

Over the past month, I have been dealing with going to bed a reasonable hour, but not able to fall asleep for another 3-4, sometimes 5 hours after laying there. I have tried everything...listening to music, watching TV, making my room completely pitch black, flipping my mattress over, not have caffeine 4-6 hours before going to bed, making my room cooler....I tried it all, only to still not be able to fall asleep without laying there for at least 3 hours. After researching this, I have concluded that I have a slight case of insomnia. I even tried working out...yes, i said it, I worked out...even after working out and being completely exhausted, I still would just lay there for hours...I also discovered that when my alarm would go off, I would wake up, hit the snooze and then not wake up again for another 3-4 hours later, not hearing my alarm going back off at all the 2nd time. The research I did, suggested either taking some medication, increasing my sex life, and cutting caffeine out of my diet entirely...now lets be honest, i can't take medication that costs tons of $$$ that I don't have, I can't increase a sex life that doesn't exist, and caffeine=no starbucks.....oh hell no to the caffeine bit...My cure for the next few days will be to take some sleeping pills at 10PM so i can get my body on a regular sleeping schedule....

Next I would like to bring up the next thing on my mind. High Fidelity. not just the movie (which is so funny and i'll comment on that in a moment) high fidelity is defined as
1. the electronic reproduction of sound, especially from broadcast or recorded sources, with minimal distortion.
2. the reproduction of sound with little or no distortion
basically, it would be a sound that sounds good....I was intrigued by this considering that I did not know the meaning of the word fidelity nor what high fidelity meant. Why don't we use this in our everyday language?....."man this radio does great at high fidelity".....or...."hey, your computer plays music with great high fidelity"....

You ever have something that you know will just make you laugh out loud no matter how bad of a mood you are in?...well I know of 2...no 3 things that have that affect on me....
1)in the movie High Fidelity, there is a scene where John Cusak plays out 3 different scenarios of how he would love to kick this guy's ass. This guy, Ian, is who John Cusak's character's girlfriend dumped him for. It is amazing. One scenario, John cusses the dude out. Second scenario, John's co-workers have to hold him back before he fights him. The third scenario is the best, John's co-worker smashes the phone across Ian's face, knocking out several of his teeth. Then John, Jack Black, start to kick Ian while he is down and then the dude that used the phone (who is the smallest of them all) grabs the air conditioning unit out of the window and smashes it on Ian's face. Then it goes back to showing Ian leaving the store, while John never touched him. I laugh so hard watching...I'm laughing right now just thinking of it.
2)StrongBad e-mail: caffeine. This one is a classic!
3)The insanity test. You know, where you have to look at this racecar and not laugh for 1 minute while this cartoon sounding dude makes the sound of a go-kart. Hilarious!

In other news....
-I'm moving!...its like about 4 blocks away...it is a cheaper house that is bigger and better.....and won't have neighbors upstairs who must run for the French 4 X 100 Olympic team.....They seriously love to run back and forth at all hours of the day and night through their apartment. You'd think they'd lose their breath considering they smoke and Adam and I see them smoking outside all of the time.
-I'm currently taking 2 classes this semester....Studio Recording and Intro to Web Design. I'm excited about learning HTML, so expect some changes to my blog...I will test some things on here before sending them in for my class.
-I am visiting Harvester for a possible internship in 2 weeks. Please keep this in your prayers. I've been really looking forward to getting down there and I think it would be for the best.

Other than that, things are going really well for me right now. Started a new workout program earlier tonight...so expect me to quit after 2 weeks.....maybe 1 1/2....no, I've really got motivation this time around...also joining an intermural dodgeball team in a few weeks, so yeah, gonna have fun w/ that....work is still work, who knows when anything will be finished with Reality Trip...I enjoy the paycheck though, so can't complain too much more....well i could, but that won't change anything, so no point in wasting my breath.

So yeah, thats it...oh and Steelers are gonna win the SuperBowl, and I've got tickets to St. Louis Cardinal games!...well, will have in 1 month!....oh, leave for Florida, Week-of-E 2006....look out! um, thats really it...nothing more....guess we'll see who i piss off with this post...

hey--if the harvester thing doesn't work out, do you have any interest in an internship in NYC? my friend Faith lives out there and Forefront Church is looking for some interns for the summer, so she told me to ask around. I bet that's a possibility! I don't know what made me tell you about that, but I thought you might be interested for some reason.

Seriously, Squeaks... sleeping pills don't actually regulate your sleep schedule. I had insomnia once. It's because your brain won't stop and shut down. You got to read a book and relax. And the most important thing is don't sleep in. Make your body want that extra three hours.
