Broken Happy Bridge
I did it.
I busted a hole through the happy bridge!
There was a small group of us there tonight and i noticed this board that already seemed rather torn up, as if the rest of the boards are in perfect condition. I started to pull up on the middle of the board...the first part of it came up easy, then it was just like a roughted out board that was all mulchy....I then proceeded to stomp on the sliver that was out of the board, about a good 4 inches. I then gave up, but was still determined to bust through! I mean, I would have been able to say, hey, look, next time you come here and see that, you'll remember me. I went back at it. I finally stomped heavily with all of my 130lbs. of me and we heard a big splash in the waters below. I noticed that my foot was now nearly completely through the board. I did it!
I could put my hand through the happy bridge! The board was torn up enough that you could see the reflection of the stars on the water below! I made my mark!
Now whenever you may make your way out to the happy bridge, go about 15 feet away from the end of it (the end closest to the mini-bridge) and there will be a board that has a hole through it that you could probly lay a baseball bat down and it would fall through. I am proud.
I feel like I have made my mark on Lincoln!
God Bless it!
Sucks though cause i think i put a hole in my shoe while doing this. It was a sacrifice I am willing to deal with knowing that I have BROKEN THE HAPPY BRIDGE!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I've heard about that place. I'm glad to know that you have left your mark in the great town of Lincoln!!! ummmm, which shoe was it!?!?!? LOL
Is nothing sacred?!?!?! How could you intentionally desecrate the Happy Bridge??
We can't be friends anymore...
way to go squeaks, keep up the destruction
I'm torn. I love the happy bridge. But I love breaking things. What is it out that? Just the sound of glass shattering is one of the best sounds ever. Along with that Ploop of something falling into the water that shouldn't be there like boards, TV's, people getting married...
